A tour suitable for the adventurous type of people, who love walking. You will visit Europe's longest gorge ( 18 km long).
The gorge starts at Xyloskalo (1227 m. above sea level) on the Omalos Plateau and runs down to the seaside village of Agia Roumeli on the south coast of Crete. After an impressive drive along the North Coast of Chania, through the White Mountains up to Omalos Plateau you finally face the challenge.
The walk through the Samaria Gorge takes 4-6 hours depending on your pace. This hiking adventure ends at the Libyan Sea in Ag. Roumeli (and unspoilt fishing village) where you can have a rest, swim or have lunch before you take the ferry to Chora Sfakion or Sougia. You will return to your resort by bus. A good pair of hiking shoes is a must, as well as sunblock and a hat.
